Do you possibly wish to have an AHT of Your own?

On this page I tell how do You have a possibility to have an AHT and what do You have to take into consideration in having one. What is demanded from You and what do You get.

When expecting an AHT, You must be prepared for quite a lenghty waiting. At the moment in Finland, there are only 2 breeding females which, according to our principles, can be used to produce only one litter per year each. The litters are small, about 2-4 puppies born at a time.

AHT's are not accepted by FCI (Federation Cynologique International) and therefore cannot be registered in Finnish Kennel Club. The breed also hasn't got rights to be shown in dog shows arranged by Finnish Kennel Club.

AHT is a breed recognised by UKC (United Kennel Club) in the USA. The dogs in Finland are registered in UKC and we have been given the opportunity to register the AHT's born in Finland to UKC.

Therefore, every puppy leaving us gets the UKC registration papers.

Agility and such hobbies are also possible if the hobbies are the main reasons for you to own a dog.

When You are certain of waiting specifically an AHT, You make a reservation. You let us know Your contact information so that we can contact You to tell if the puppy just for You has been born. We usually call right after the labour. After that, You are able to come to see Your puppy for the first time usually when it's about 3-4 weeks old. Our wish is that You come to see the puppy at least once, possibly more so that the puppy would get to know it's future owner / owners before leaving us. The puppies are given to their new homes minimum of 8 weeks old.

The reservation fee, 10 % of the puppy's price, is paid while visiting the puppy for the first time and during the visit it is made sure that the puppy is just exactly what You have wanted.

The puppies of our kennel leave us for their new homes:
- at 8-10 weeks old
- veterinary checked
- appropiately wormed
- registered (to UKC)
- with a care booklet including advice from puppyhood to old age
- puppy starting kit, including for example food, a food plate, first clothing, a toy, a soft sleeping basket etc. necessary to start your life together

What do we demand from You:
>> You prepare well before deciding to have an AHT
>> after puppy reservation You show interest in the puppy's birth and first living weeks before Your first meeting with the puppy
>> You come to see your puppy at least once before it's placing into it's new home
>> also remember that buying a dog demands financially more than just the dog's price
>> think, are You ready to commit, as Your dog may live to 10-15 years old

And also after the pup has left our kennel:
>>> we wish for mutual keeping in touch, in joys and in sorrows (reasonably)
>>> Your are ready to ask for advice as soon as you need some
>>> You treat your dog as a family member
>>> You follow the immunisation program and wormings routinely
>>> You take care of the dog's basic needs, such as food, drink, excercise, warmth etc.
>>> You do not treat Your dog violently
if Your situation in life changes and You have to give up your dog, You let us know immediately so we will think of the solution together
